ABOUT FOODPRO UGANDA 2024

FOODPRO UGANDA, the Biggest Upcoming Food, Beverages, Processing, Packaging & Technology Exhibition in Uganda will be taking place from the 15 - 17 August, 2024 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, UMA Show Grounds Lugogo in Kampala, Uganda. The exhibition will be the gateway to the East African Business Community in Uganda. It is the premier upcoming trade exhibition in the East Africa Region in its sector.

The event will be hosting Food Professionals, Retailers, Distributors, Food Processors & Packers, Importers & Exporters, Decision Makers and Technologists of the East African Region in Uganda. Exhibitors from around 5+ countries will be participating in this exhibition looking to explore the untapped potential of the East Africa Market.

FOODPRO UGANDA will have participation of more than 150 exhibitors with the total area occupied by them being around 3000 sqmts. More than 5000 visitors from Uganda and the East African Region will be attending the exhibition during the three days. Conferences and Seminars will also be a part of the exhibition.

The show provides an immense opportunity to capture the untapped market of the East African Region through Uganda. It is one of the shows in the umbrella of upcoming shows being organised in the East African Belt. The show is jointly organised by Exhibitions & Trade Services India Private Limited (ETSIPL) and Futurex Trade Fair & Events Pvt. Ltd. MARKET OVERVIEW

Uganda is the largest growing economy in the East Africa Region.



97% of Ugandas exports in Africa are to countries in the EAC and COMESA regions. Uganda has seen an increase of 20% in the total imports in recent years.

The main traditional cash crops of Uganda include Coffee, Tea, Cotton & Tabaco. Ugandas non-food imports consist of tallow and machinery.

The highest food imports consist of wheat, rice, barley, sugar, maize and milk.




Food and drink is a key sector in Uganda’s economy with agriculture accounting for 21% of the GDP, responsible for about 46% of total export earnings and employing over 65% of the population.

A good climate, favourable arable land and an abundance of water bodies means that Uganda has the potential to become the bread basket of East and Central Africa.
